| The fourth largest city in Oregon, Gresham, located in Multnomah county, has a population of almost 98,000 people. As a large city, Gresham has a small town feel with the center of Gresham being the civic neighborhood. With winding paths; tree lined streets; different kinds of homes; and easy access to other neighborhoods and cities, Gresham is a beautiful place to live or visit. Gresham is home to Mt. Hood Community College. For K-12, students attend the Gresham-Barlow School District.
With a perfect location between Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge, there is no end to outdoor attractions. The Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area is located only 15 minutes away where one can watch the famous windsurfing. There is also the Mt. Hood Scenic Loop that can be accessed from Gresham, and is a beautiful 3 hour drive of some of Oregon's most awe inspiring scenery. Gresham is also home to many parks with baseball/soccer fields, children's play areas, picnic spots, basketball courts and more. Currently Gresham is involved in developing the 4.8 mile Springwater Trail Corridor. Part of a nationwide plan to convert abandoned railroad tracks into trails for walking/biking. It will become an incredible wilderness pathway.
Gresham has a historic downtown area which is not only rich in history but also has unique shops, dining, and entertainment for all. Some of the events held in the downtown area include: the incredible annual Mt. Hood Jazz Festival. This festival routinely attracts some of the world's greatest jazz musicians. There is also the Art Walk, Farmer's Market every May through October, Rocking Around the Block Car Show, and many more. The MAX light rail runs through Gresham, and the Springwater Trailhead entrance is through Main Park in downtown. With so much to offer it is no wonder that Gresham is growing so quickly. An incredible place to visit, work, play, or live.
